2003年五月中回來面試國衛院臨床組的工作，推算起來應該是和平醫院封院又淨空後的事了。印象中最深刻的是去龍山寺浴佛卻空無一人，默默望著觀音菩薩，心中擠不出一句話，只是一直問為什麼、為什麼、為什麼。回去美國自主隔離十天期間，仔細翻閱當地報紙，有一則專欄漫畫很貼切地描述台灣 “Never mind, Taiwan has always been isolated, anyway”. “Island or Nation?” It is the question. 我記得再小一點、1992年赴美做一年的博士班交換學生時，行前在台大語文中心參加英文集訓，授課的外籍老師跟我叮嚀兩件事：第一，要說自己來自台灣，不要說ROC，後者那個C容易跟共產主義混淆，講台灣最多被誤認為泰國人，但兩地都有民主。第二：人的一生不能是座孤島，出去後要多學美國學生開放、願意與人分享的精神，台灣學生多半較為害羞、閉門造車。 科學研究與佛法修行有許多相似之處，好比兩者都重視親自驗證、認為所說法是種發現而非創造、以及理論可以超越時空放諸四海。醫療人員多為世人所崇敬，因為我們一個個壞掉的身體，要靠他們幫我們修補、恢復、或是送走。但在政治凌駕專業時，醫療人員很容易一下子失去戰場甚或轉換成病人角色。劇中許多人事物確實是20年來台灣生醫領域的縮影，忍著心痛看完七集，內心除向當時受苦受難及救苦救難的諸位菩薩致敬之外，期許自己能為一個更科學、更民主、更法住法位的研究環境盡一份心力! #國際橋牌社 #共八季 #大河劇 #長照2.0 #3.0 #論文造假 #校花 #現前種種，松直棘曲，鵠白烏玄，皆了元由。 註: 疫起 也看完了，一樣揪心。貼個聖嚴師父的法語平衡一下： 把工作當成是一種奉獻的機會 是一種藝術的把玩 是一種生命的欣賞 就能在輕鬆的身心狀態下把工作做好
