《聖嚴法師教話頭禪》：「自序讓中華禪法鼓宗的教法更完整我在二○○四年已出版了《聖嚴法師教默照禪》，現在，二○○九年初所出版的《聖嚴法師教話頭禪》，此書的出版，對於「中華禪法鼓宗」的禪學教法就比較完整。一九九八年，我在象岡首度主持了「默照」、「話頭」單一法門專修禪七，引領禪眾一門深入契理契機。我們除話頭禪七外，另外還有禪十、禪十四，甚至在去年（二○○七），我們還在法鼓山上首度舉行了話頭禪四十九。而現在這一本《聖嚴法師教話頭禪》，主要是整理我分別於一九九九年、二○○二年，在臺灣主持的禪七和禪十四，以及於二○○四、二○○五年在美國象岡話頭禪十的禪修開示。我的書很少請人寫序，除了《聖嚴法師教默照禪》一書曾請楊蓓博士寫推薦序，另一的破例，就是《戒律學綱要》，是由竺摩老法師替我寫的。而這本書，剛好又是他的徒弟繼程法師替我寫導讀，這可以說是承先啟後，也算是一項特色。現在繼程法師也是我的弟子，他以弟子的立場來寫這篇導讀，也無可厚非。這篇導讀的可讀性高，希望透過它能讓更多人接受這本書。二○○八年十二月四日」法鼓全集2020紀念版（第4輯第17冊，頁3-4）。取自：https://ddc.shengyen.org/?doc=04-17-001
